Surae is a lovely place for a walk with James and we went there at May 23. It used to be a natural swimming pool for people, but it's now restored in its original state and is now again a beautiful, peaceful fen. The area has everything a dog can wish for, from forest to sand to water to small hills. James, always looking for water to play in, knows exactly where he must go to go to the water. He just has a nose for it; when he has been somewhere, even once, the next time he remembers where the water is and what's the shortest route to find it. It's amazing, he's so smart! Well, as you probably can guess, he cannot wait to get to the water and thus he walks a little bit too fast then! I have to call him back several times on our way to the water, because otherwise he would just go to it and wait for us there, but I don't think that's such a good idea ;) However, when I let him go by using a vocal command, he flies over to the water and stands in it, just waiting for me to throw something. That's what he loves most!
