Peculiarities...

James has several peculiarities, which makes him who he is! He demonstrated a couple of them on June 30, which you can see below. First, he loves to rest his head on something, preferably a nice, hard, wooden thing, such as the arm rest of the garden chairs or the coffee table :) He likes to put his head in a weird position, which doesn't look comfortable to us, but he does it over and over again! Second, James loves to hide ;) He likes to sleep underneath bushes in the yard, far away from people's eyes... I think he likes the feel of the earth and the ground. James sleeps there when it is hot outside or when it's raining. When you don't know he's there, you won't find him!

Workshops for both of us!

June 14, I entered James and me for a day of workshops. James was entered for a workshop tricks and I had a workshop photography! The day was organized by a Dutch dog forum and is called the do-day. It's always such a nice day filled with lots of dogs, friendly people and fun! I've been going to this day since James was a puppy and we know many people there. This time, the day was held in Heteren; the temperature was good, so it promised to be a nice day. I started with a workshop photography and learned a lot! Hopefully, I can bring this into practice :) We also tried to make a group picture with the dogs of the people doing the photography workshop, you can see the results below! James with his friends Jessy the Bull Terrier, Peer the English Cocker Spaniel and Lijfje the Basset Hound. The last picture wasn't made by me, but it is really nice with James, Dana the Standard Poodle, Kiwi the mixed breed, Peer the English Cocker Spaniel, Lijfje the Basset Hound and Mila the Rough Collie. Later, we enjoyed the workshop tricks. The great day ended with a photo of James and his longtime friend Vinou the Bouvier des Flandres!

Playing in the daisies

For his 5th birthday a few days ago, we gave James a new toy, a funny green thing with a squeaker in it. He immediately liked it and tested it thoroughly ;) When we went to Zeeland a couple of days later, I put it away in a box in our foyer. James knew it was there, of course, and later on he appeared with the toy in his mouth. He took it out of the box and went to the garden, a perfect opportunity to make some pictures of him! After playing with the green thing, I said he had to hold his other new birthday present, just for the fun :) Always makes a nice photo!

5 years!

Today, June 6, James celebrated his 5th birthday! He is such a lovely boy with a sweet character. During the last years, we have learned so much from each other and I'm proud to say that he's my best friend! Of course, he had a nice day with lots of presents and fun! James has developed into a mature dog, in character as well as in conformation. He loves to work, play and go for a walk and he is the best dog to have around! We hope for lots of years with this great little dog!
