Queen's Day

April 30, it was Queen's Day in the Netherlands. Every year, the country celebrates the fact that we have a queen; however, this was our very last Queen's Day, so we needed to remember this day with pictures in style! This year was also a little different than other years because we now have a king instead of a queen. Next year, we will have a King's Day on April 27...

Op 30 april 2013 vierde Nederland Koninginnedag. Elk jaar viert het land het feit dat we een koningin hebben; echter, dit was onze laatste Koninginnedag, dus moesten we daarvan een herinnering maken met foto's in stijl! Dit jaar was ook een beetje anders dan andere jaren, omdat we nu een koning hebben in plaats van een koningin. Volgend jaar hebben we een Koningsdag op 27 april...

Sunday, April 14, we went to the International Dogshow in Antwerpen, Belgium. We left early in the morning to be on time, but the Cardigans were judged in the afternoon so we had more than enough time to get nervous! Of course, we are always a little bit nervous before going into the ring, but this time it had a special reason. James only needed one more point for both his Belgian and International Championship! Finally, it was time for us to enter the ring. James did his best and the judge, mr. Steinmetz (DE) thought so too. James was entered in champions class and gained 1 excellent, CAC, CACIB and became Best of Breed! Not only did he win the "Brabo Winner '13" title, but also finished his Belgian and International Championship! We are soooooo proud of him; he's not only a pretty dog, but also a lovely dog in all other aspects, whether it is doing obedience, making long walks or just being the perfect companion!

Zondag 14 april 2013 gingen we naar de Internationale Hondenshow in Antwerpen, België. We waren 's ochtends vroeg weggegaan, zodat we ruim op tijd zouden zijn, maar de Cardigans bleken pas als laatste gekeurd te worden, dus hadden we meer dan genoeg tijd om zenuwachtig te worden! Natuurlijk zijn we altijd een beetje nerveus voordat we de ring in moeten, maar deze keer had het een speciale reden. James had namelijk nog maar een punt nodig voor zowel zijn Belgische als zijn Internationale Kampioenschap! Eindelijk was het dan tijd voor ons om de ring in te gaan. James deed zijn best en de keurmeester, dhr. Steinmetz (DE) dacht daar net zo over. James was ingeschreven in de kampioensklasse en behaalde 1 uitmuntend, CAC, CACIB and werd Beste van het Ras! Niet alleen won hij hiermee de "Brabo Winner '13" titel, maar werd hiermee ook Belgisch en Internationaal Kampioen! We zijn zoooooo trots op hem; hij is niet alleen mooi, maar daarnaast ook een geweldige hond in alle andere aspecten, of het nu obedience is, het maken van lange wandelingen of gewoon het perfecte gezelschap zijn!

News from Russia

The James & Wendy puppies in Russia are doing great! They're already 4.5 months old and fully established in their new homes. On Sunday, April 7, three of them competed at their first show. It was the annual specialty show of the Cardigan Welsh Corgi, held in Moscow. All three were shown in baby class; judge was mrs. Russell-Smith (GB). Zolotoj Blik iz Astrograda "Blik" gained the 2nd place with very promising and Zeeland's Jameson iz Astrograda "Phil" gained the 3th place with very promising in males. In females, Zimnyaya Vishnya iz Astrograda "Nora" gained the 2nd place with very promising too. Congratulations to their breeder, Andrey Astrelin, and the puppies' owners! De James & Wendy puppies in Rusland doen het geweldig! Ze zijn alweer 4,5 maand oud en helemaal gewend in hun nieuwe gezinnen. Op zondag 7 april 2013 deden er drie van hen mee aan hun eerste show. Het was de jaarlijkse kampioenschapsclubmatch van de Welsh Corgi Cardigan, gehouden in Moskou. Alledrie werden ze geshowd in de babyklasse; keurmeester was mw. Russell-Smith (GB). Zolotoj Blik iz Astrograda "Blik" kreeg een 2de plaats met een veelbelovend en Zeeland's Jameson iz Astrograda "Phil" kreeg een 3de plaats met een veelbelovend bij de reuen. Bij de teven kreeg Zimnyaya Vishnya iz Astrograda "Nora" ook een 2de plaats met een veelbelovend. Felicitaties voor hun fokker, Andrey Astrelin, en de eigenaren van de pups!
